If any who reads my blog Total Comic Mayhem, they know that I'm big on comic investing. That's right: Investing in comics. I still believe they are one of the best investments to make if you know what comics to invest in and why.
A lot of people think investing in comics are speculators who buy up new comics straight off the rack for 3 to 4 bucks a pop and store them neatly in a comic book boxes, hoping that they'll one day be valuable. The majority of people who waste their time on modern comics as investments don't really know what they're doing concerning comics as investments.
That's one hundred percent speculating and very little investing. I, myself, am partial to silver age key issues and bronze age key issues for a reason. It's not because I love the art, which I do, or the stories, which I also do. It's because these eras in comics produced some of the most popular comic heroes and villains ever. These characters are already pop culture icons.
