This is Review #7 out 78 as I am continuing to review every issue of the Walking Dead as my tribute to such a great book and to hopefully to get new readers to the series. Also to get everyone hyped for the new show on AMC.
Plot:
In the beginning of this issue we see a flashback of Lori and Shane hooking up, when Lori felt most vunarable. Once the Flashback is over we see the group buried Shane right next to Amy, and Lori takes it the hardest out of anyone. She show her anger toward him by spitting on his grave. The group had agreed and they have decided to hop in the RV and move away from the city. The group also decided to make Rick the leader of the group since he was best suited for the job. Once the group finaly got going they have a hard time driving as they are always stopping to move debri from the road. As they are moving things to clear the road they notices three new faces!! Are they friends or foe? Also find out what Lori has to tell Rick it will blow your mind!!
OUTCOME:
Right away in this issue you notice that the art is different. The art is not bad it is just not as detailed as Moore's work. The new artist for this book is Charlie Adlard. He does draw great and you can feel the passion that Lori and Shane have for each other in the first couple of pages. Also the key thing that I noticed about Shane is that he has wanted Lori for a long time. What an Shane turned out to be. Oh well he is dead now. This story is the beginning of a new story arc so there is no action, it is all story which is o.k. This is Kirkman's way of telling everyone hey guys this is not your typical zombie book!! We get to see new faces and and a big surprise at the end of this issue. Pick it up I give it a 4 out of 5.
This is Review #6 out of 77 as I am continuing to review every issue of the Walking Dead as my tribute to such a great book and to hopefully to get new readers to the series. Also to get everyone hyped for the new show on AMC.
PLOT:
The camp just got over there first major encounter with the zombies and they won the battle but not without a price. They have lost Amy and Jim just got bitten. After sometime when Jim notices that he is not going to make it he asks the group to leave him so he can be with his family. As Rick Carl and Shane go hunting. Rick tells Shane that Amy and Jim would be fine if they had just moved camp. The next morning the Rick and Shane get into it again and Rick gets punched in the face but Lori stands up for Rick and scratches Shane. Rick chases Shane in the forest and Shane at this point loses his marbles and is pointing a gun at Rick. Just as Shane is about to pull the trigger. Something happens that blows you away.
OUTCOME:
This issue was awesome when I read this for the first time I was like damb!! I had to read the last 4 pages ten times. I got so drawn into the story and I could not believe the ending. I was shocked. In this issue you get to feel the pain and suffering in the characters like when Jim got bitten by the Zombie and he just wanted to be left behind. Then for Shane when he lost his mind, you could see the expression on his face. Also the desperation on Ricks face just before he gets shot then finaly the last words that come ou of Carls mouth. Its just brilliant. Alot of this has to do with Tony Moores art work which is so very detailed. The one sad thing I have to say is that this is Tony Moore's lst issue on the series. Otherwise after I read this issue for the fist time I was hooked and I had to tell everyone about this series. I give this issue a 5 out 5. For new readers out there, enjoy!!
This is Review #5 out of 77 as I am continuing to review every issue of the Walking Dead as my tribute to such a great book and to hopefully to get new readers to the series. Also to get everyone hyped for the new show on AMC.
PLOT:
Rick and Glenn barely escaped Atlanta alive but did manage to accomplish there mission in getting guns for the entire group. So in the beginning of the issue we see the group learning how to use there guns. Andrea seems to be the quickest learner. Carl even gets a chance to carry his own gun, but Lori is not to happen about the whole thing. Once the group is finished with shooting practice they head back to camp. Then Rick, Shane and Dale go out and get fire wood. While getting the fire wood Shane expresses his feeling torwards Rick thoughts. Towards the end of the book the entire group are sitting around a camp fire eating getting to know each other having a great time until Amy goes to use the bathroom then all breaks loose!!
Outcome:
This issue gets you to learn a little bit about every character in the book so far and it is beginning to make you feel more of a connection to the characters in the book. For me a little much info to take in. Not much action in this issue but your in for one of an ending. You also get to witness Shane lose more of a grip and Rick really starting to guide the group in what they have to do to protect themselves from danger. I understand that Kirkman wants you to get attached and get to know all the characters in this issue and then BOOM!! but I like action and it was very slow for me until the end. The overall book however was great. I gave it a 4.5 out of 5.
Thanks for Reading :) KOZ Happy Collecting everyone!!!
This is Review #4 out of 77 as I am continuing to review every issue of the Walking Dead as my tribute to such a great book and to hopefully to get new readers to the series. Also to get everyone hyped for the new show on AMC.
PLOT:
In issue #4 we right away are seeing Rick telling Shane about his concerns staying in the the city, but Shane tells Rick that they need to stay close to the city because the Army is coming any day to rescue them and take care of the problem. So Rick decicdes if they are going to stay, that the group needs more guns. So Glenn and Rick decide that they have to go back into the city to find more guns and with a little advice from there friend Jim whose entire family was killed by Zombies, Rick and Glenn were on there way. The adventure ahead of them is awesome, and the secret that is revieled at the end of the book is shocking but not unexpected.
OUTCOME:
Well here is the offical start to my first of many reviews of the the Walikng Dead. I plan on reviewing all 77 issues. I am starting with issue #2 because I already did a review for issue #1. So here we go.
PLOT:
Issue #2 Starts off with Rick Driving his Police car into Georgia. His goal, is to find his wife and son in Atlanta. One of the things that Rick notices is not only that he can not get gas at any gas station but seems to notice that the Zombies are everywhere and not just the town he was living in. Once Ricks car runs out of gas he finds a horse in a farm close to where his car broke down. While Rick makes his way into Atlanta, he finds out that the Zombies have taken over the entire city and go after him and his horse. Thanks to a young man named Glenn, Rick makes it out alive, but for his horse, not so much. For the first time in the series you witness what the zombies can do when you become a victom. After escaping with Glenn the two of them have a talk about what has happened in the city, and theres a good chance that his family did not make it. Glenn however tells Rick about a camp with other survivors and ask him to join. Once Rick gets to camp he finds out a very big surprise.
OUTCOME:
For me this story was very well written and you start to get a feel of that character development that makes this Volume so great.
In the beginning of this series the art was different but very well detailed. I really like
Thanks for Reading Koz :) Happy Collecting everyone!!

PLOT:
In this issue Rick is reunited with his wife and son Lori and Carl. Another thing that Rick finds out is, that his partner Shane has been taking care of his family and the rest of the camp. The whole camp consists of 11 characters and they are right oustside of the city of Atlanta living in a RV. After spending the night for the first time with his family in over a month Rick explains to his wife Lori that
he has not had a chanse to be scared. Once Rick wakes up, he has a disscusion with Dale who is a older gentlemen, Dale explains to Rick that Shane can not be trusted. Later Rick and Shane go hunting and while hunting they hear screams from the camp. As soon as they arrive they find out that Dale took care of the danger just in time. In the end someone does not seem to happy about the whole thing.
Well this is it the beginning of the end for our friends in the community. Things are finaly piecing togther on how the community is falling apart.
PLOT: The story starts off as Rick is on the phone again with his dead wife and Carl walks in. One more thing what makes this even more strange is the phone is unplugged. Even thought Rick has does this before it is like a strange therapy for him. Carl on the other hand, I think is starting to get frustrated with his father. As the story continues things have taken a turn for the worse for Scott, the man that has been dying from an infection, and Pete the Doctor that gotten into a fight with Rick in issue #75 just loses it!! On a positive note Andrea finds companionship with a coworker named Spencer. Maggie and Glenn seem to be reconecting there relationship. With an ending that will leave you wanting more.
OUTCOME: At the end of this book you will understand how it all is starting to come together and possibly getting you ready for the next story arc. I say this every time I do a review for aWalking Dead book. You have a serious problem if you do not read it. The story is awesome and the character development is first class. Do your self a favor and buy it. I give this issue a 5/5
- read moreDo you remember way back in 1994? I do. Not only was it the year I graduated High School, but it was a time Video Games were truly taking over, and comics at that time were in bankruptcy or trying to reinvite themselves. They were trying anything just to keep there readers, forget about getting new ones. Shoot the industry almost went under. 90's comics were just plain out bad!! But... there were a few hidden gems out there and it all started with writer Ron Martz's Green Lantern Vol.3 Emerald Twilight issue #48-51. So much of of what goes on in todays Green Lantern books had to do with what happened in these few issues. It all starts with Coast City be destroyed. Hal Jordan uses his ring for personal gain. A Gaurdian forces Hal to give up his ring and Hal just loses it!! He kills the Gaurdian and all the other Corps members. You witness the first apperance of Parallax and Ganthet handing over the last power ring to Kyle Rayner. Just like that a new Lantern is born. I do have all the issues in vol. 3 and the series is overall pretty good. These few issues hold up very well in the in todays comic world. If you are a Green Lantern fan and have never read these issues I suggest you should. You will not be Dissapointed. They did do something right in the 90's. I give these 4 issues 5 out 5
Thanks for reading Mike Koz :)
- read moreUm, I am almost speechless after reading this issue. All I can say is you half to have a one messed up mind to write this book. This issue does not just come close to pushing the limits, but it just pushes boundries wide open. I almost feel like I commited a sin or something after reading this issue. Issue #2 starts of pretty normal the family finds a place to stay. It is in the country far away from the crossed, they set up camp and prepare just incase the crossed Invades the camp. Setting up traps and sending out Addy out on patrol. However when the cat is away the mouse will play. Addy puts the pieces together and finds out some very disturbing things that her father has been up to. Like I said before it is just sick!! So be ready for the ending of this issue. I have never read a book like this before so it will be interesting to see how this series turns out. I give this book a sick rating 5 out 5 and a story rating 3 out 5. Excuse me while ask for gods forgivness.
Thanks for reading Mike Koz :) Happy Collecting everyone!!
