Wonder- Con 2010 experience!!

931 views • Apr 6, '10 • (0) Comments

Well it all stated thursday evening helping my friend get his stuff ready to show off at a booth. We were up finishing it til 3:30 am. We then left for SF soon thereafter. Got to Wonder-Con at around 10 am after we made a stop to rest. Friday was great. Met a lot of artists and celebs. Saturday was the best. I was going to stand in line at the DC booth to get some freebies, and found out the line was practically a mile long. So I decided to wait. So I turned around and saw Joe Kubert's booth and decided to check it out, i'm glad I did. I asked about the school, and found out you can do it online. I was talking to one of the people at the booth and asked him if it would be okay to have a pic taken with Joe, which he sais was no problem. Joe came over and said hello, then his helper got busy talking to someone. So for 30 minutes I got to talk to Joe Kubert about how he got started in comics and found out that it was in his blood to do comics. Just talking to the man for a half hour straight uninterrupted has inspired me to push myself and see what I can do to become a comic artist. He was very kind and like I said before inspired me to strive and become better at my art. I just want to offer one helpful tip to anyone who wants to become a comic artist, you might know this already, but just pay attention when you go to the booth's the artist are at, watch and see their technique's and give them a try and see what happens. Asdk questions, most artist's are more than willing to talk about their own ways of drawing. Anyways Wonder-Con ruled. I met Ken(aka ), what a great guy!! I also got a couple of pics with myself and the coveted doughboy, which i'm sure he'll be posting soon!!!

Just saw this at Imax 3-D on friday. I thought it was visually stunning, and the 3-D technology is simply fantastic. If you have not seen this movie yet, it's worth checking out. Going again on friday at a local theater to see it in 3-D.

Who's gonna go see the Wolf Man when it comes out in a couple weeks? Do you think this movie will stand up to the original Lon Chaney Jr. picture?
