Pretty much always been into comics, though I've been in and out over the years. About a year ago I started a business with a friend selling comics, toys and collectibles at cons. Hope to eventually have a store.

Walking Dead #67 (patience)

I have a problem with dialogue in comics and movies that is just there for the sake of being witty or "cool."  It's something that bugs me in about 60-80% of Bendis's work.  It's like he gets caught up in his own Bendis style and forgets to move the plot forward.  Show don't tell! More often than not, the characters wind up all sounding the same, too.  This is also true of Kevin Smith movies.  They all sound like Kevin Smith.  I happen to think Kevin should have a talk show, but not make movies, because I actually do think he, himself, is funny.  His movies, not so much.  I think Bendis tries to be Tarrantino but winds up being Smith most of the time.

Ok, so I was gonna talk about Walking Dead.  Issue 67 is basically a talky.  But I in no way felt like I was reading pointless dialogue.  At no point did two characters sound the same to me.  They never have in this series.  The conversation between Carl and Rick was about as real as I can imagine a conversation like that being.  We had one big revelation come up unexpectedly, but somehow not so unexpectedly.  My only complaint about this book every month, and it's really not a complaint, is that it always seems to be such a fast read.   I think that's just because Kirkman leaves me wanting the next one right away.
