This is a regular post where I grab a bunch of comics from my reading stack and rave and rant about them. This is also a labor of love for my daughter and I - to not only share a common interest but to also encourage her to read and write.

The other day I found myself watching 'dry' comic book cleaning videos on YouTube and decided to give it a try. The videos showed individuals using various eraser type tools to remove unwanted marks, inks, and other imperfections - I thought to myself how hard could this possibly be?

Here is the account of my first cleaning attempts.

Like most of you I have a backlog of comics that need to be read. As I work through my stack I wanted to do snapshot reviews of the books. Most of these reviews will come from new comics,  but once in a while I will throw in some older books.

Starting out using a carrot scale of 1-5 to measure the overall book - people seem to like ratings.

My first post - hope you enjoy.

I live in Florida which is not conducive to public transportation or walking, as a result, we have to drive everywhere. I wanted to set that context, because for the last year I found myself buying 99% of my books from a large online store. I have come to enjoy the online service, the discounts, and customer service -- but all of this has come at the expense of my LCS.

Every Wednesday as a kid I used to ride my bike about 8 miles total trip to my LCS. I would show up all sweaty, pick up my books, package them in a trapper keeper, and ride back home --sometimes in the rain. The point being is that I was and am willing to put in the effort to support a local business.
