I write comic book reviews that NOBODY has ever asked for!
Let's do away with the long intro this time out. If you've read Part 1 of my Longbox Junk video game one shot special, then you know what this is about. . .Video game-based one shots.
If you haven't read Part 1 yet, I have to ask. . .
Why are you reading Part 2 first? You some kind of Commie?- read more
Welcome to another "Retro Review" edition of Longbox Junk!
Once again, I step outside of my usual bargain bin finds to take a closer look at a comic from my collection that might be considered more "valuable" than most of what I own and give the internet a classic comic review that NOBODY ever asked me for.
This time out, I think I've really outdone myself on the "Review that nobody ever asked me for" front, in that I believe that this will be the only review of this comic that has EVER been done. . .and I'll take a safe bet that there probably won't be another one.- read more
Generally speaking, comic book fandom seems to cross over with certain other fandoms pretty easily and often. Video games is one of those crossover points with comic books that is a great example of how two seemingly different things can come together in a great way. . .well, mostly great anyway.
Like just about everything else on Earth, there's good AND bad to be found in the many comic book/video game crossovers out there. . .which brings us to this Longbox Junk entry.
This time out, I'm gonna TRIPLE down on things I love with not only comic books and video games, but ALSO my great love of the one shot! I know that there are a lot of people out there who prefer the history, background, and ever-changing storylines of an ongoing series. . .especially one that's been rolling along for a while. There's nothing wrong with that.- read more
Anyway. . .
Let's get into some Longbox Junk!- read more

Welcome back to another special "Retro Review" edition of Longbox Junk, where I step away from my usual dollar box fare and take a look at some of the older or more "valuable" comics lurking in my 45 Longboxes.
Sheesh. . .45 boxes? My local comic shops should send me a Christmas card thanking me for clearing out their unwanted inventory.- read more
IF YOU GRIT YOUR TEETH AT THE THOUGHT OF "SOCIAL JUSTICE" OR "FORCED DIVERSITY" IN COMICS, DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW.

In keeping with my current efforts to more familiarize myself with the current state of Mainstream Marvel Superhero Comics, I've enlisted my comic collectin' daughter to help me out a bit.
With a few exceptions (such as Captain America, Punisher, and Moon Knight), I'm just not really interested in much that Marvel has been putting out for quite a while now, as far as their superheroes go.
It's not that I don't like Marvel. . .it's just that honestly I'm more of a DC guy when it comes to NEW comics. Give me some Bronze-Age Marvel, though, and I'm a happy man.- read more
