- Back in the early to mid-1980s I was watching Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Iceman was my favorite character in that cartoon. It was around that time my mom took me to a little store in town called The Hobby Shop. I knew nothing about comics, but the owner helped me with finding Iceman’s limited series. That’s where it all started for me.
Later on, I bought a copy of Spider-Man Vs. Wolverine off the twirly rack at our local Kroger’s supermarket. That’s when my obsession for Wolverine started. He’s been my favorite character ever since.

- Star Wars got me into collecting comics. They were giving away the first issue of the comic book at the theater and I HAD to get the rest!
I had read plenty of comics, but they were pretty typical Bronze Age "One And Done" issues of things like Brave and Bold, and so on where you could just grab an issue off the spinner rack and not worry about what came before or after it.
Star Wars was the first comic I remember telling a complete story in a certain number of issues. Ever since then, I've had the comic collectin' bug!Favorite Characters: Lone Ranger, Green Hornet, Captain America, The Shadow, Zorro, The Rocketeer, Jonah Hex

- When I was in grade school in the early Seventies, I felt that there was nothing better than watching Speed Racer and reruns of the old Marvel cartoons from the Sixties. Once I discovered that those heroes were in print, I made weekly visits to a little mom and pop shop a couple blocks away, my pocket stuffed with dimes, nickles, and quarters!

- Growing up, I knew who Spider-man was, and Batman, and whatever the cartoons showed us. I don't think it was until I picked up Silver Surfer Vol. 3, #2-#3(Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers, and then Amazing Spidey #307ish with David Michelinie, and the Toddster that I really got into collecting. My best friend was a huge X-men fan, and I swore I would never collect them because they were his..'find', lol. That didn't last long, at all. I think it was around issue..#221-#223 that I started getting it regularily. Those issues, of those three titles..that's where it all started for me, and I have a very soft-spot for those issues!
