  • Check out the latest Price variant price guide (80s price variants) very interesting.

The collaborators who made this guide possible have all witnessed a growing collector interest in — and market premium for — Type 1A cover price variant newsstand comics of the 1980’s, and we collectively believe it is time for a comprehensive Price Guide listing all known 1980’s newsstand-exclusive cover price variants from Marvel and D.C. as the two heavyweight comic book publishers of the era. - Benjamin Nobel (Author)

If a variant means it’s a variation of the regular comic then yes it’s a variation, or Variant. If we put all this aside it’s only what people are willing to pay, not our beliefs. I encourage people to look at the web page. If a comic is purchased for 75 cents US, in the US with a 75 cent price on it. It’s a price variant. It’s what the market holds, not what I wish it to be. Ultimately That is what determines price, and that is why this price Variant price guide has been created. We can go in circles forever, trying to debate it, but when people are paying more for them, it can’t be ignored, hence there is no point in belabouring variant debates. It is a variation of the regular comic. These would be the best investment at this time IMO.
