- go pick up the Punisher: War Journal trade, it has issues 1-4 (i think) which does end up tying into civil war...
it's only at issue 14 right now, so there's not too much catching up to do...and it's worth it in my opinion
i've never been a huge punisher fan, but i happened to pick issue #7 since it had Frank in a Captain America-esque costume and i wanted to see what that was all about...and i'm hooked...i went back and bought all the back-issues (which like i said, arent very many since the book is only about a year old).
this is a book that would be really easy to get on board with - highly reccomended

- If You're an X-Men fan you should check out Astonishing X-Men. they have 3 or so trades out now to catch you up but the storylines and the art are just phenominal. However, it only seems to be shipping once every 3 or 4 months at this point. Still worth a look.

kooldvl said:i just started collecting comics again, and i was just wonder what comic i should definatly get.
I would focus on bronze-age comics. Like Nick Fury and his agents of shield #1, or The Joker #1, Try the secret wars 1 series, X-men V1 (#267 and lower) or 75 and 95 cent newsstand variants of the early to mid 80s. The way i see it if your going to pay 20 bucks on a modern variant, I might as well buy something that is stable and will go up. It seems people are starting to dislike variants of the modern world.

- If you are looking for a current series, my vote would be for Hawkeye. It is my favorite current title. Very different than a lot of the mainstream marvel stuff.
