This way, the database can become just a little more accurate. As it is laborious, I’ll submit one per quarter. Here are some corrections I have noted down in regards to Variant Covers Assumption: The five digit extension number of the barcode means: 001 (issue number); 1 (what cover variant); 1 (what printing) E.g. 00121 = issue 1, cover variant 2, first printing Granted, Marvel Comics are hopelessly inconsistent in this regards, and there are more errors than are worth listing. But… the approach (and therefore the assumption) is valid. They have no barcode, no price etc., and the indicia states ‘…may not be sold, but will be given as complimentary copies’. They should be listed as a separate series labelled ‘Marvel Legends’. The issues are: o The Incredible Hulk Vol. 1 (1968-1999, 2009-2010) Marvel Comics. Issue 314C o Iron Man Vol. 1 (1968-1996) Marvel Comics. Issue 149B o The X-Men Vol. 1 (1963-1981) Marvel Comics. Issue 4B o Marvel Super Action (1977-1981) Marvel Comics. Should be issue 4B – but is incorrectly listed in CBR as Captain America Vol. 1 (1968-1996) Marvel Comics, issue 109C.
