  • Hi CBRers! Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with the iOS version of the app. It gets a 2.5 star rating in the App Store, and that’s pretty bad. However that’s a cumulative rating, so I was wondering how its working now. I have a new iPhone SE and would like to use it, but don’t want to waste $15 on an app that crashes during searches.

  • Hi madtruk,

I purchased the CBR iOS app as soon as it came out and don't remember ever experiencing the search issue. I run it on both my iPhone 6s and iPad Pro, both running iOS v14.3, and currently running the latest released version 1.2.0 (17).

I would definitely give the current version 5 stars, even though I'm sure there are still some cool features that will come out in the future and maybe a bug or two somewhere in the existing one... just not any that I've seen that prevent me from using it.

To be honest though, I'm not the biggest manual searcher, as I generally scan barcodes to pull up issues (and why I'm a huge fan of everyone who enters or corrects issue barcodes -- and enter them by hand-scanning into CBR whenever I have an issue where it is missing in the database) or look it up from my Piles to see if I need the issue (or one in a better condition).

Top features I use it for:
    1. Barcode scanning at stores (or searching through dollar bins) to look up issue values on-the-fly, and see if it is reasonably priced or to negotiate on the price.
    2. To quickly access my Want List or review my Collection to see if I'm missing a particular issue or if I can get one in a better condition.
    3. To quickly access the Reports (On The Move) is my favorite, and you can quickly switch between your issues on the move and the global on the move list.

Haven't really used or taken advantage of the eBay Analyzer feature, but it looks interesting as well.

Thanks for your post, I'll have to remember to go on the App Store and put in my rating and opinion there, because it is way better IMHO than a 2.5 rating, and way more useful.

    Take Care,
    --DaCoop

Daredevil Completist... well, trying my hardest anyway. If you have some cheap issues with DD in them, I'm probably interested.

  • Just an update: I'm enjoying the app-I don't stress it out too much as I don't go anywhere to really use the mobile features (yet), but I'm excited to try it when entering my pulls this month.
