- I have never opened one of these before, so I'm genuinely curious. Are there any differences between a regular or variant comic and a variant included in one of the recent Wal-Mart comic packs? As an example, there are two listings for Spider-Man Enter the Spider-verse #1 - Issue #1A and #1 Wal-Mart. Is the Wal-mart issue exactly the same, or does this have some logo or something else about it that makes it an actual variant? Or does it depend on the issue?
Is the only difference that the #1Wal-Mart is included in a plastic Wal-mart package, and if so, does that make it an actual variant?

- The "walmart" edition in the series, is the unbagged comic from the pack.

- Ok, so does this meet the definition of an actual variant? Like how would anyone be able to tell if an unbagged Wal-mart edition was different from #1A? Why would that command a different price from #1A
I don't understand how it is a variant / separate listing.

We do that because some people never open the packs and some do, both get the chance to put their "choice" in their collection as well as the value differs between open and closed packs.English is not my native language, please forgive my grammar / spelling... - Thank you Amzombie, you answered my question, I see now that the trade dress is slightly different, I couldn't figure it out before.

- Ugh. You are right about that. Open ten DC packs and you may get ten issues of the same book. I've heard stories about people getting ratio incentives in the DC packs, but never happened to me.
The Marvel packs on the other hand...I have gotten multiple ratio incentives, including a 1:100 Thor #1 and somehow a non-Walmart store exclusive Silk #1.Did I err?
