- Seems like the pricing is out of whack here your exclusive variant for Amazing Spider-man 1!
Paying $80 for a store variant is asinine.
You're looking to make $75,000 off of the 1,000 print run for the virgin? You guys MUUUUST be smoking crack. On top of your $75k money grab, you'll have 40 1:100 variants, 80 1:50 variants and so on... why would you charge so much for the people who use your site to buy your book when you can make all your money back on the essentially free ratio variants you'll be getting from your 4,000 total print run?!?
It seems like a better way to push people away than keep them coming back.

- I do not think you understand how it works. We bought 4,000 custom comics and that is it (3,000 of our dressed covers, 1,000 of our virgin). The ratios do not apply to us; we do not get ANY of the other covers (as far as we know - we just asked our LCS). Now, had we bought X of the regular covers we would have received them, but we don't sell comics in general.
If there are 100,000 comics (regular printings) and we have 1,000 virgin covers that is essentially a 1:100 ratio. 1:100 comics tend to go for $75-80 hence the pricing. In addition 1:30 covers tend to go for $20-25 and based on the 100,000:3,000 ratio would be more like a 1:35 cover. So $25 makes sense and ironically is exactly 1/3rd of the virgin cover (in both print run and pricing).
On top of this people are paying it...so that is the value is it not? Heck there was even a sale for $100 on eBay. Just because you might not think it is worth it doesn't mean others don't.
As far as your "money grab" our website is free. We get by on ad views and donations. People turn on ad blocker so we lose money from them. People use the website without donating so again, using resources. Any proceeds are for the website.
Ultimately, no one is forced to buy them.Favorite Quote: "You're not just some guy in a bat costume are you? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! - Justice League #1, 2011" Hunting for (mainly reprints/variants) - Please help! - See My Profile
