  • With the new movie out, I found the old series on a cable channel and DVR'd several episodes.

Hmmm. I seem to recall them being a bit more exciting. LOL. Even my 6 year old grand-daughter was bored by them.

I also found an old episode of "H.R. PufnStuf" - ouch - I guess you had to be a bit high to really get it...

  • That's funny you say that, because I came across them as well. I totally remember them being more exciting. I guess that's what you get when you watch something at age 5 and then revisit it at 35. It was bordering on painful at times. My kids were left speechless with how bad it was.

On the flip side, I also came across old episodes of Thundar the Barbarian on Boomerang and it was almost as good as I remembered it. My boys even enjoyed it.

  • It's funny how we remember things.

Another example is the old 60's black & white series of Outer Limits. I bought the two seasons on DVD and although the costumes and graphics were hokey, the presentation and story drew you in and made you think, unlike the mentioned series that was more bubble gum eye candy for that time.

  • sci-fi (opps i should say syfy) channel had a all day marathon when the movie opened up. it did bring back memorys of the bad, bad, and the ugly.d'oh! but on the other hand it made me think of stuff that was on the tube back then. do we remember the Herculodes and the Galaxy Trio.

  • Oh yeah, Herculoids were great. I'm surprised that they haven't gotten a modern day treatment.

Speaking of modern day stuff, has anyone watched The Secret Saturdays? It reminds me alot of the shows I watched when I was a kid. My boys love the cartoon and my daughter will even watch it.
