- I just watched it at lunch over my Slingbox.
I must say it was pretty good...and I knew the outcome. Daniel should have known as well as he has said all along that no matter what happens to them now, the "past" still happens.Favorite Quote: "You're not just some guy in a bat costume are you? - Glad everyone liked it!
Yes, the "past" is the key to everything and it is interesting how it is coming into play.
Hey how is the Slingbox? I wanted to get one of those but I have enough stuff already and I go home for lunch since I live close to work. I watched the Unusuals which is on after @ lunch today, it is OK.

- Yup. Basically all I did is put it on my office TV. All you have to do is set it next to your tv, run the cable from the wall to your tv box, from your tv box to slingbox, and from slingbox to your tv. Then if you are in your room with the tv you watch as normal.
If you are on the road you have controls (that sit in front of the tv box) that allows the slingbox to send IR signals (i.e. change channel, use guide, etc). Here is what my computer looks like right now while I type (I watch CNBC all day). It even gives you the remote that you normally have at home.

- Season 5 finale. Any thoughts?
I'll start off with: Was Jacob filleting a red herring at the beginning of the episode? "1500 years ago, everybody knew the Earth was the center of the Universe. 500 years ago, everybody knew that the Earth was flat... and 15 minutes ago, you knew people were alone on this planet. - I do believe you are right.
The most exciting part of the show...the absolute very end when it said series finale 2010.Favorite Quote: "You're not just some guy in a bat costume are you? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! - Justice League #1, 2011" Hunting for (mainly reprints/variants) - Please help! - See My Profile

- i loved it.
to me, 1 of the better season finales we've seen. but that is my opinion.
now for a few observations and questions. *SPOILER ALERT*
anyone remember the 2 skeletons they found in season 1 at the fresh water spring? my guess, bernard and rose. probably wrong but not a bad guess.
why did jacob visit kate and sawyer as kids but everyone else as adults?
i'm assuming the ship at the beginning was the black rock. could it be them who is coming that jacob hinted to before he "died"?
where the is desmond?
did the bomb detonate or was that just another flash? if it was another flash, where did the possibly detonating bomb go?

Yes, this is a good guess. Adam and Eve anyone?
why did jacob visit kate and sawyer as kids but everyone else as adults?
He visited people at profound times in their lives. With Kate it was to lead away from a life of crime and her friend she was with, who was killed later in life. With Sawyer, this moment of his parents death shaped who he turned out to be. He is leading them towards redemption but everyone still has free will.
i'm assuming the ship at the beginning was the black rock. could it be them who is coming that jacob hinted to before he "died"? Yes that was the Black Rock. No, I believe he is referring to the castaways returning.
where the is desmond? No clue??? I was surprised too that he didn't figure in any of this although neither did Charles Widmore or Faraday either...
did the bomb detonate or was that just another flash? Yes, Juliet set it off. It was a white screen as opposed to black so even though everyone died as a result it was a beginning not an end. if it was another flash, where did the possibly detonating bomb go?
I too enjoyed it. I will start off by trying to answer your ?s. See above.
It was not what I expected. I mean I have never seen a show that starts off so strange each time out. You really can't try to guess what is going to happen because you will look foolish. You can really only watch and then speak about it after the fact. Anyone who does get something right is throwing a lot of stuff @ the wall before something sticks.
Well we finally see Jacob and this is a classic example of you get what you ask for, so be careful what you wish for. We almost saw too much of him. A little less of him IMO would have been more effective. The great mystery now is who is the other guy @ the beginning? He obviously can't kill Jacob himself even though he wants to so he needed to have someone else do it. Who does this remind you of, John Locke, of course. And who's body does he take over but none other than John Locke himself, brilliant!
So, the 4-toed statue has a Crocodile head on it...Sobek, of Crocodiles, Power, Protection and Fertility. The Fertility relates to the island. This show is so deep.
The only problem with the Finale aside from smaller concerns is that it is really open-ended in that anything can happen and it is anyone's guess as to what.
I, myself will just wait until 2010 to see and not worry too much about it.
