- i dont know why it would enrage you....leo is actually very awesome.....other than "the beach" and titanic....everything he has been in has been awesome......ok, so This boy's life, growing pains, and basketball diaries werent so good....ok so actually his early acting career wreaked except for "whats eating gilbert grape".........but his more recent stuff has been much better....the man in the iron mask, gangs of new york, catch me if you can, the departed....even blood diamond wasnt half bad......his choices have gotten much better...and simply choosing the right movie is half of what it takes to be a great actor

- i've never really thought of a live action version of an animation as being a remake....i wouldnt consider transformers a remake....more like an adaptation.....now, i love anime, akira must have been really really good when it was made as it was a pretty decent movie when i saw it a few years ago, but I had seen so many, much better anime before i watched it that it just didnt stand out...I am sure that the live action movie will be better than the animated one, assuming that they can keep an A list actor such as leo in the cast

- Woah.............................I liked The Beach....while not his best work...it wasnt a bad movie...
I can see an Akira Movie with him in it.... What i Can't see working is the upcomming Dragonball Movie....from the stills ive seen....it looks grimm...
But Back to Akira...Im sure it will turn out fine...from everything ive heard they are going to keep it as close to the source material as possible...hence why they are going for 2 movies instead of cramming everything into one...

- it has the possibility of being cool, ill admit
like the Eva movie, hardcore fans will never accept it. but if its WRITTEN by hardcore fans... hmmm... one of the things that really bothers me is if they make a movie about Japan... without Japanese people in it

- Japan is my favorite country...never been, but would love to live there for a year...........but I can't think of any Japanese actors, and if I added all Asian actors into the mix, then Zhang Ziyi would be the only that actually is a theatrical draw for me............soooooo, i would prefer american actors, I believe that would make the movie more palatable.

- palatable, yes, but not true to the source
its like... ever seen a Japanese movie based off a Japanese book with Japanese actors? IE - Ringu, Battle Royal, Casshern, Ju-On. Theyre all good but ever seen an American movie based off a Japanese book with American actors? IE- The Ring, Dark Water, The Grudge. Nothing special there are exceptions (Speed Racer, Rasen), but I am most definantly going to be skeptical walking into that theatre perhaps ill be pleasantly surprised, perhaps ill get exactly what im expecting who knows?

- horror movies, in general, bore me...they tend to lack originality and rarely possess a story worth telling....sooo, the only one i watched was the grudge, and, yes, it did suck, but sam raimi touched it, so of course it sucked.....now, if you are saying that American movie studios should fund a movie made in Japanese, then it wouldnt get the funding necessary for it to be visually appealing....so far, the only genre i like watching in subtitles is drama.....other genres, especially visually based genres such as action and sci-fi, are very hard to watch with subtitles. Thus, another reason why I would be much more likely to watch in live action (although i would like to watch the live action version of GTO someday)....I am very glad that American studios are taking notice of the popularity of anime and are making live action versions of them...........and honestly, speed racer is the only one i currently know of (an anime that was then turned into an English live action movie...assuming you can call speed racer live action....i still need to watch it anyway)
