  • I assume by now everyone knows I love Heavy Metal, comic books and watching TV.

My question for this Forum post is what current or past TV shows have you been watching this year? I obviously prefer the comic book based shows, but feel free to add whatever you wish.

The two shows I have watched recently are Gotham (2014-19), all 5 seasons and The Shield (2002-08 ). I haven't quite finished The Shield yet, but I'm on season 6 (of 7). These are definitely two of my very favourite shows out there.

  • I recently did a grand rereading of the 193-issue run of Walking Dead. I am finally now watching (for the first time) the TV series. I've come to like how the basic framework is the same, but many of the plot points are changed, so even though I just finished reading the books, I have no idea what's going to happen next in the show.

Not comic related, but I've also been enjoying rewatching Monty Python's Flying Circus (for the umpteenth time) and recently watched the new season of Black Mirror.

  • If you liked The Shield, definitely watch The Wire if you haven't already. Justified is a classic must watch too.
I watched Twisted Metal over the weekend. It's absurd fun that doesn't take itself too seriously but it has some dramatic moments to it as well. It you want some light mayhem it's worth a watch.
I am very much impatiently waiting for S2 of Invincible. S1 was so dang good.

  • I don't watch a ton of TV honestly but this summer I got the MLB network so I've been watching a lot of baseball games. Rooting for the Red Sox has been rough this year so I've been watching lower market teams and players you don't really see/hear about and that has kept it fresh and exciting. The Pirates, Reds and Orioles have been a joy to watch with their young talent and speed. Also, I did just get Rick and Morty seasons 5 and 6 on Blu-Ray in the mail a few days ago so I'll be binging those soon.

  • Some good picks so far.

I have watched The Walking Dead, but like most fans, ended up tapping out around season 7. Monty Python? Even though it's 50 years old now, it's still a fun watch. Good choices Nf7mate.

I have watched The Wire and Justified already. Both excellent shows. I have only heard good things about Invincible season 1. I'll have to try and track that down. Thanks drew.

As much as I like MLB, it's NFL time starting tomorrow, so that will be my sports to watch over the coming months.

  • Invincible is on Amazon Prime in Canada. Which reminds me, a new season of The Boys should be coming soon. I believe the Spin-off starts last Sept/early Oct too.

  • I was hoping for a few more posts, but what are you going to do? Thanks to everyone who participated.

I just started re-watching Smallville and have been enjoying that killer show. There's 217 episodes, so I won't be done until next year.

  • We're watching Suits on Netflix but will be watching Gen V when we're done. We recently picked up a PS5 and BG3, so really the wife and I spend a lot of time smiting evil for justice rather than watching TV at night.

I guess I will add my 2 cents....

I'm trying to finish up the CW Hero shows. I finished Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and have about a season and a half of The Flash left. I watched about half of a season of Batwoman and didn't like it (won't continue). After the Flash, I will revist Black Lightning, as I watched as far as into the 2nd season, and thought it was pretty well done.

My favorite show is The Boys (which go me into currently reading the comics; which honestly, aren't as good, but still a fun read), so anxiously waiting Season 4 of that. I will check out Gen V, but not very hopeful about that one. Invincible was great as well!

Got into the 2nd season of Doom Patrol, so would like to finish that. Started watching Titans, which was good, but decided to wait to watch with my wife.

Always meant to check out The Wire. Got somewhere to the middle of Season 10 of the Walking Dead; have been meaning to go back and finish.

Love Horror as well; we started watching The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix, and have been watching spooky stuff, since it's Halloween season.

Too be honest, there is just too much damned stuff to watch, and keep up with Everything....I've pretty much given up on tryng to keep up with Everything....lol

I would rather play a PC game and be in a story, than watching one.... ;)

  • I've been working my way through all the Marvel stuff on Disney+ as I only have it until Mid December.
So far I've watched all the Movies and I am currently working my way thru the series' which I'm trying to watch in the timeline order.
Once I'm done those I will watch Morbius on Amazon and then Gen V. Still waiting for the next season of the boys.

  • Enjoying Loki 2 so far, basically he's Doctor Who in it.
Gen V has been a pleasant surprise, shocking, gross-funny and fun.

  • Just devoured Gen V. Started on Sunday watched 6 ep and then finished it last night. Really enjoyed it. So long as the cross overs isn't too much it should be a good series. Now we get more of The Boys world every year.

Nothing wrong with "too much" of The Boys. Is that even a thing?

  • Hoping to see some Gen V and Invincible soon, but in the meantime we just finished Loki Season 2 and it was epic!! Great 12 episode run through the two seasons with a fantastic way to wrap it up. Two hairy thumbs all the way up!
