  • I find it strange to having another Venom movie without Spider-Man. I didn't like the first movie and Woody Harrelson looks to be pretty good as Carnage but I don't think Sony Pictures really understand these characters. The humor in that trailer was so corny.

  • I agree. Venom is NOT Deadpool. Some fun and jokes is fine, but keep it sort of serious please?

  • Kelly Marcel wrote the screenplay, and the jokes she attempted in the trailer fell flat. And yes, I never thought Venom or Carnage were “jokey” characters like Deadpool. The trailer kind of felt like it was trying to be a joked-filled MCU movie (this is a Sony film), but the writing went terribly wrong.

    It was only a trailer, so maybe the whole movie won’t be as cringe. We’ll see.
