  • Hello, everyone.

I've never thought about grading, until the last few years of the internet becoming rather fanatical about it.
I'm not interested in selling and I'm not going to have any of my comics slabbed (I enjoy being able to pull them out and go through them); but I can't help but be curious.

Knowing how subjective grading can be, and the fact that I've never graded a single comic before (I have ~20,000 in my collection), I'm simply curious as to what people might put this Werewolf by Night #32 at.

I bought this a couple of years after the first Moon Knight series launched and I learned this was Moon Knight's first appearance. I don't recall the exact price, but I know it was somewhere around $15. As a poor student at that time, I couldn't afford more than that. LOL

The front and back covers were scanned on a flatbed scanner (I'm in the process of scanning in the covers of all my comics); while the interior was taken with my phone (which is adequate though by no means all that great).

There are no missing pages, no tears, no cut-out coupons, no water damage.
It's 100% complete, though definitely has some dings and yellowed pages.

But having never graded anything before, I find it all to be too subjective to try to grade it myself.
So, any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply.
I know it's difficult with only a couple of pictures, so I appreciate you taking a look.

I was thinking it would be in the Fine to Fine+ range, but again, am never sure.
Grading guidelines like "some wear" or "yellowing" is so vague and subjective, that I just don't have the energy to struggle with it all. LOL

  • i agree its in the range front cover and back look good im thinking the picture from the open book might be shadowing the color a little cause its weird the back would be whiter then the interior unless the book set open for a long period

"dont try to press it open for a better pic not sure it would up the grade much"

    solid book from that time

  • Thanks.
Yes, the interior has some shadow issues when I took the photo with my phone. Not the best phone camera, and had some difficulty getting good lighting. There is yellowing, but not quite as bad as that photo makes it look.

The covers were from a flatbed scanner, and as you said, I'm not going to flatten the book out when open, in order to get a better shot.
I was mostly trying to show no rusting on the staples and from the inside, the page edges all looked good.
