  • I graded it to be a 9.4-9.6, but I don't know what to about the corners (mainly the bottom left one). Would this be a pressing candidate?

  • I think it is in the 9.2 range. A press may help a little but I don't think it gets better than a 9.6 at best. (It appears to have some surface scuffing? The spine-side corner crunch though is definitely the defect that would keep you out of 9.8 territory regardless of pressing.)

  • Pressing can't fix the corner? Rip. There's no scuffing on the comic, just a bent spine.

  • Scuffing must be on the bag then (the photo of the upper right - on the 'N' is the cleared.)

The press would improve some aspects of the corner, but it looks like it has 'bloomed' out at the bottom and there is some color break and maybe some small tearing.

  • So would it be around a 9.4 then? There are no tears, but the corner does look hopelessly screwed.

  • I ran it through the grading tool on here and the only 2 steps out of the 38 that I didn't put as the highest option were Step 7, Corner Rounding and Step 24, Spine Roll. I selected the next option down from the highest and the grade came out as an 8.0.

  • For spine roll, I put none because it has lifting but the spine itself doesn't have seemed to roll. I put blunting for the corner rounding and just noticeable deformation for the corner creases, getting an 9.6.

  • Just my humble opinion, but I have to agree with MacheteF7's assessment from the grading tool and would put it at somewhere between 8.0 and 9.2. It looks like a cool cover and a nice comic to have but I just can't see it as a 9.4 or higher. Hopefully I'm wrong!!

  • top and bottom corners on the spine side look dinged to me I'd give it a 9.0 - 9.2, I would like to see a back picture to see how bad they are dinged.

  • Just a question, but is there something with RL 27? Why would you spend the money to grade this book? Even in 9.8 condition it's not a book i (personally) would ever consider, and especially when not perfect...

I kinda skimmed the comments so maybe i misread somewhere...and if so i apologize...

  • RL 27 has a spine problem my other RL books also have, not to mention similar corners. I don't intend on getting it graded, but I was just curious how much it to they killed the grade. If I ever meet the writers for RL, I have other, better grade comics to get signed+graded, but this one was just like a worst-case grade scenario.
