  • Hey All,
My question is this: If you receive a book that has the barest of spine roll, is is considered manufacturer defect? I have a scan of the book where you can see the so-called spine roll. I don't think it is enough to say it is is damaged. All my books are stored face to face/back to back. They are all bagged and boarded as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would show the pic of the book but I am having trouble using the image button

I've never heard of spine roll considered as a manufacture defect. Does your comic have spine roll or is it just miscut?

  • It is interesting that you have found other scans showing the same problem but a spine roll is a serious defect. I have come across books where the spine has not been fully compressed (tight). This would be associated to the printing process but is not the same as a roll and easily corrected once the book is compressed. It is possible the spine's were rolled during shipping (box was put on it's side) , however not a printing error.

  • The book has been stored front to front/back to back in the book boxes and I just don't see a spine roll. I manage to upload a pic here, but sill not sure how to post it so you all can see it
