  • "The force is strong with this one, hmmmmmm"

It's complete - all pages. I bought two new copies OTS at CBS as a kid and stored it away, never read.

  • That is one really good looking book. I would have to say a 9.4 at least. For me to grade it higher I would have to physically look it over including every page.

  • A really nice looking copy of Star Wars #1. I wish my copy was in as nice a shape as yours. I would rate your comic no lower than a 9.4 assuming all the pages inside look the same as the one you included with your scans. Best of luck to you with it!

  • I had a prospective buyer but he decided to drop $1500 on a graded 9.8 one on eBay instead. Shocked

  • Looks like you have quite a few spine tics. I'd say 9.0. Still a very nice copy, though. Very Happy

Maybe, the tics around the staples you can get away. I'm guessing you got this off a comic carousel. Most books back then were prone to spine tics. Anyways, still a tight book. Very Happy

  • If that is what the going rate for a 9.8 issue is these days I wonder what a 9.4 book would fetch?

  • I'd say 9.0. Nice book!

  • Spine Tics? Inherent flaw?

A 38 YO comic book bought new off the shelf and kept protected ever since is only a 9.0 or 9.4 at best? Doesn't make sense.

  • I feel your pain eXistenZ. The only five books I ever sent in to be graded were all, like yours, bought new and kept protected for years. I figured they were all going to come back 9.2 minimum to 9.8 hopefully. None came back higher than 9.0 and since I have learned a little bit about grading and it is amazing what some real tiny flaws can add up to. It's still a very nice copy and should fetch a fair price to be sure!

  • Only way to know for sure is to get it CGC'd. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with it.
