  • Let's talk about our favorite artist on any Spider-Man title. Mine was probably Todd McFarlane and then right after when Erik Larson took over as artist. For some reason I'm also really drawn to Gerry Conway and Sal Buscema's work (in that order), more so than to John Romita's Spidey, which has become a fan favorite for many.

  • I really enjoyed JR.JR's first run on ASM, though I'm not a fan of his new art style on the Peter Parker series recently.

  • Hard to pick a favorite with all the artists that have drawn Spider-Man. Aside from the obvious McFarlane and JR.JR, another one of my favorite was Mike Deodato JR.

  • I am a lover of the classic and original take by Ditko. His Silver Age beauty of art on page, still blows me away. I have been trying to pick up decent above mid-grade to higher grade books of his run of the first 38 for my collection. Waiting on #36 to arrive any day now.

  • I love Mike Deodato JR's art and pick up anything he does, but I don't recall him actually doing a Spider-Man book. If he did, let me know the title and issue numbers so I can track them down.

Yeah, I try and pick up all that he does as well. His run on Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1 was issues 509-528, where he did the covers and pencils. He's done a bunch of covers as well for ASM, but not sure of issue numbers off the top of my head.

  • Looks like I started picking up ASM again with his last issue...now I'll have to track down the others.
    Thanks

  • I have enjoyed many Spider-Man artists over the years including most that have been mentioned already, but my all time favorite has to be Todd McFarlane. I really love his artwork and loved his run on ASM.

  • I wanted to give some thought to the question posed. Spider-Man USED TO BE my all-time favourite hero until Marvel Comics (and some writers) kept destroying that love for me.

My favourite Spidey artists of all time have to be: Marc Bagley, John Romita Junior, Todd McFarlane, John Romita Senior.

  • Art by McFarlane and Bagley always catches my eye when digging through boxes, so definitely my favorites.

  • McFarlane and Bagley, probably in that order, but ya gotta admire Bagleys ability to draw around all those word balloons that Bendis wrote in USM.

  • McFarlane, by far. Not really a fan of Erik Larson, or Mark Bagley. After TM, I guess I would prolly say JR jr. I would also add that I love the J. Scott Campbell Spidey's but, I think he's only done covers, hasn't he?

  • Can't really say I have one favorite since so many top tier artists worked on Spidey. Also, it's heavily tied to how good the comic was at the time.

I'd say Todd McFarlane, Mark Bagley, Romita Sr, and Gil Kane.

  • 1. John Romita Sr.
    2. Steve Ditko
    3. Mark Bagley

Romita Jr.'s early art, Pat Oliffe, Ross Andru and Sal Buscema earn honorable mentions

  • Everyone mentioned the favorites....TM...is my favorite. However, I do enjoy Humberto Ramos as well..give me a Skotie Young image as well.

But what was mentioned previously are the hall of famers
