  • Most of you know I'm a Metalhead. I do listen to older Rock and '80s Punk as well, but my main interest is, of course, Heavy Metal.

I would love to hear from everybody about their favourite acts and/or albums.

Mine would have to be U.D.O./Accept. Accept is a German Heavy Metal band that started in the late '70s. It took a couple of albums for them to find their way, but once they did, it was glorious. Lead singer Udo Dirkschneider ended up leaving after 7 albums and started his own solo project. in the late '80s. After a few albums, Udo found his way back into the Accept fold and released another three stellar albums. After that, Udo was back to his solo stuff again. As of 2019 he has released 10 albums with Accept, and 16 under his band U.D.O.. If you love your Metal in the classic '80s style, this is a band for you!

    Personal Favourites:
Accept - Restless And Wild (1982)
    Accept - Metal Heart (1985)
    Accept - Objection Overruled (1993)
    U.D.O. - Faceless World (1990)
    U.D.O. - Holy (1999)
    U.D.O. - Man And Machine (2002)
    U.D.O. - Rev-Raptor (2011)
    U.D.O. - Decadent (2015)

  • I do enjoy a little metal from time to time, so I will have to check out UDO and Accept for sure. My tastes are all around the board but enjoy the heavier sounds, college rock, classic rock and more.

A list would probably evolve every other month, but for now...here ya go:

    1. Surfers- Independent Worm Saloon
    2. Beatles- Magical Mystery Tour
    3. Dandy Warhols- Welcome to the monkey house
    4. Jimi Hendrix- Electric Ladyland
    5. Prince- 1999
    6. Arctic Monkeys- AM
    7. Nine Inch Nails- Pretty Hate Machine
    8. Pop Will Eat Itself- Dos Dedos Mis Amigos
    9. Johnny Cash- American Recordings
    10. Empire Of the Sun- Walking on a Dream

  • My favorite band is Primus but I like a lot of music and especially 80's and 90's metal. The term heavy metal has changed so much over the years it seems so I don't really know what to call what anymore. Back in the 80's Bon Jovi was considered heavy metal lol. Like Spector said, a list can change so much but here are some of my favorite albums:

    1. Primus - Frizzle Fry
    2. Pearl Jam - Ten
    3. Alice In Chains - Dirt
    4. Ozzy Osbourne - The Ultimate Sin
    5. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
    6. Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance
    7. Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine (Thanks for reminding me Spector, this album is awesome)
    8. Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
    9. Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood
    10. AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got It (Live)
    11. Nirvana - Unplugged
    12. Metallica - S & M (I know many don't like this album, I LOVE it)

    I could go on forever...

  • I like your list MacheteF7.
Primus is a great band. I got the chance to see them, Alice and Chains and Pearl Jam at Lollapalooza (92 I think? a little bit of a haze there haha).
I saw Pearl Jam again for the VS tour, and GNR for the Use your Illusion tour.
    So yeah, dig your list!

  • I'm gonna say that my tastes skew towards metal more than anything, but we'll see what my list looks like here in a minute, haha.

    1. Metallica - Pretty much anything (yes, even Load and Reload. ...And Justice for all is probably my fav though)
    2. Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction, although the Use Your Illusion albums are right up there too.
    3. Black Sabbath - We Sold Our Soul for Rock and Roll. All of Ozzy's best work with Sabbath on 1 album!
    4. Pennywise - Killing Time. Went through a punk phase, but still love this album.
    5. Megadeth - Sympony of Destruction. My intro to Megadeth, and still my favorite from them.
    6. Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time - Not their best album, but again, my intro to them, so it stands out to me.
    7. Manowar - Kings of Metal. Pretty much the loudest band in the universe.
    8. Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil. Hey, I can rock out with the kids once in a while!
    9. Tenacious D - Self titled album. Best folk metal band in all of the land!
    10. Weird Al Yankovic - Everything. Gotta lighten it up every once in a while.

So yeah, I think it's a slam dunk on the metal. Although I do slide in other directions every once in a while, I always find my way back to the head bangin'!

  • My first concert was Tesla opening for Motley Crue, and I still enjoy both. I actually just stumbled across the full concert on YouTube (the Motley part anyway). The Crue will always be a part of me which is probably why, as far as newer music goes, I am really digging all albums by Sixx A.M.
