  • Try doing a hard reset on the console and try to open the game again, sometimes that helps, especially if you use instant-on mode.

I'm definitely digging BL3, gameplay is much tighter, and I really like the new world map/fast travel. Still think BL2 is the best though.

That worked, thanks Jimbo! I haven't had to do that since I first got my XBone so I didn't really think to do it.

  • Is anyone playing the new Call of Duty:Modern Warfare? I haven't got it and am wondering what people think. I used to be a big CoDuty player but lost some interest around Ghosts and all interest with Advanced Warfare and haven't played one since. MW2 is still one of my favorite games of all time and I've heard that this new one is bringing the old school feel back. Any truth??

I will most likely get MW at some point, all the coverage i've seen is pretty positive. I really only get them for the campaign and put a copy in my collection, so Black Ops 4 made me lose interest a bit as it has no campaign.

  • Late to the game (pun intended) but here's my bit

Got an Atari, played pac-man and missile command a lot on that
Skipped the Nintendo, just went to a friends house to play RBI baseball all the time
Got the SNES and played NCAA basketball a lot.
Got a PC in the mid 90's started off playing warcraft on it, then I got starcraft.
Friend introduced me to Age of Empires II: The Age of conqueors (aka AOE II) and have played that on and off again for 20 years now.

I played AOE II for several years hard core, joined a clan, participated in tournaments etc, then I got high speed internet and then I got my first FPS that I played regularly, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (aka MOHAA)

I basically skipped over the story mode, hopped online right away found a clan and got team speak. Many a late nights sniper tourneys were held and endless laughs and stories were created.

Clan moved over to Call of Duty (the very first one) and more of the same ensued. Fun clan only tourney's, competitive leagues etc etc some of the best times. But all clans are made to fall apart and thus my clan did too.

Got married, started a family etc etc ... aka taking a break

2013 discovered Steam gaming site, bout AOE II HD edition for under $10 and started playing it again. Joined a bunch of friends that I used to play D&D with and we started a small guild to play D&D online. good times.

I now play AOE II, need to upgrade my PC in order to play the just released AOE II Definitive edition.

I also play World of Tanks Blitz. Started off on a tablet, got the PC version of Blitz through Steam. Have played for over 5 yrs now.

I also mess around with Paladins and have tried Fortnite on the kids Xbox One, but I suck at it.

So yeah, gaming is a part of my life for sure. Feels better to be doing something than watching something all the time.

  • With my ancient history, I was a pioneer.
    First video game = Pong
First popular video game = Atari
Second popular video game = Nintendo, followed by several upgrades
First MMORPG = Asheron's Call, made friends, led a guild, 8-9 years
Second MMORPG = tested several but stuck with World of Warcraft, still playing it after 10 years. Cool
Oh, and for grandkids got the Nintendo Wii, gone now, they have their own.
The joy is in the journey, not just the destination.

  • It's been awhile since this thread got any action. What are people playing right now? I have been doing a little more gaming lately probably due to the winter weather. I downloaded a slew of sniper games as they were all on sale recently and have been enjoying them.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 - Not a horrible game, pretty large world and fun sniping.
Sniper Elite 3 - Just finished this last night, a fun ride. The bullet cams are hilarious.
Sniper Elite 4 - Haven't started it yet but plan to this week, hopefully it improved on some of 3's flaws.

Also been playing a little Minecraft here and there just to pass some time.

I've been playing mostly Modern Warfare and some indie games on XboxGamesPass. There is a pinball game called Demon's Tilt on GamePass right now that has been kind of addicting.

Sniper Elite 4 was really good (imo), takes what SE3 did and improves on it. The environments are much larger.

I've played through 3 levels now and yeah I agree. MUCH better game then the last. They definitely tightened things up and the game feels so much better. Large maps, environmental kills/traps, graphics are improved, etc. Very impressed with this game! Having a lot of fun with it.
