Latest info on Irma puts it on a direct path to Tampa. We decided not to leave, the major highways are almost parking lots. Due to stricter and more costly requirements our roof and windows are all hurricane resistant. I am worried more about winds and debris, especially with a large senior development of mobile homes a mile away. House and 20,000 comics are all insured.

All the best Spa-fon. Many people have NO idea what you're going through (myself included). Be safe!

We have been in Tampa area 28 years and felt effects of a dozen hurricanes, none were direct hits as Irma may be. The only one to cause damage was Katrina, which blew down completely a 6' fence around back yard and some shingles off the roof. Also blew over a 20 foot tree in our yard.

We took pictures of our 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son sitting on the fallen tree during final pass of Katrina, riding it like a mechanical bull! This one much more serious.

Pray

Best of luck spa-fon, I hope it changes course (out to sea and dies) or the very least downgrades to a 1 or tropical storm.

Got back to our house after police cleared the area. Aside from about 200 lbs of leaves, twigs and limbs in the pool, the only real damage was a fence post snapped and two sections of fence came down.

God is good. Our prayers continue for the flood victims in TX and on the East coast and those in Miami area and keys.
