- I joined a few days back, and wanted to introduce myself to you all.
I'm a 23-year old from Indiana, and have been collecting comic books (for reading purposes) since I was around 11-years old. While I have only a modest collection of Marvel comics (under 1,000 individual issues still), I have a deep love for them.
Just earlier this week, I picked up Strange Tales #124 (Sept. 1964), and while it's not the oldest issue I own, I'm rather proud of it.
Anyhow, I simply wanted to say hi (I wasn't going to make my own thread, but I didn't see the harm), and briefly introduce myself.
Hope this finds you all well.

- Welcome to the Realm, Mike. My oldest Strange Tales book is a very beat up and taped up copy of #114 that has the first Silver Age appearance of the Captain America character – i.e. not Steve Rogers – and it predates Avengers #4 by four months. Apparently ST#114 was used to gage the interest of readers to see if they wanted the original Cap to return. Take care and enjoy the site.

- Hi Mike! Welcome to the Realm. Very cool comic you have there with your issue of Strange Tales. My oldest issue of Strange Tales is issue #1 and it is in Near Mint condition. Of course it is also from volume two and has a publishing date of April 1987 so there is that! Hope you enjoy it here!

- Many thanks for the welcomes.
Bobarian, that seems a rather classic issue to own. My copy of issue #124 is in decent condition, but I've no doubt that as the years pass, and I read it multiple times, it'll get beat up a bit too.
Truth be told, I didn't know that about Strange Tales #114 - makes sense, though, and it worked. Not that long afterward (1968, if I recall), Captain America took over Tales of Suspense, and the rest is history.
Thanks to you, Tenzil, and gth08, for saying hello. Happy to be here.
Assuming that making a collection on here isn't that difficult, I very well may start that process within the next few days. While I don't have a plethora of older issues (pre-1975), I have decent runs of X-related titles (New Mutants, X-Force, Excalibur, etc.), so at the very least, it'd be nice to show off what little I have.

- I am new sort of new here also. I signed up to the community about a year ago, but just started to really pay attention to the page and use it for organizing my collection.
So I guess that makes me new?
Do what now?
