  • Taking off tomorrow for a week in my wife's ancestral home of Ireland and maybe sample some nice ales and whiskeys (though I am not a Guinness fan).

Then off to Spain for two weeks in a volunteer program teaching English.

Then to the Rota Naval base in southern Spain, to hopefully catch a military hop back to the US. Only problem with a military hop is no guarantees. Very cheap but no guarantees. May be able to catch a flight in a few days or a few weeks, so crossing our fingers.

Not sure how WI-FI is. If can get online will probably just be for emails back home.

  • Quick note between English classes.

Ireland was beautiful and green, but most days cloudy and several days of rain. Very scary in rental car driving on the "wrong" side of road... Thankfully the pints were cold and plentiful!

This week just outside Madrid, hot like Tampa but very dry. Next week north to mountains with much cooler (thankfully) weather. Spanish beer not as enjoyable and only option here so more leaning to rum and coke.

  • Touched down in the USA an hour ago, early AM flight from southern Spain (Rota) to Dover. Now waiting to board military flight to Charleston. From there hopefully to base in Tampa. The last week in Gredos was wonderfully cool in mornings and evenings, much better than Tampa in August.
