  • Sounds like we have similar holidays. Do you celebrate Christmas?

  • A co-worker years ago gave me an "Irishman's Calendar". Every day was a holiday, thus every day was for drinking.
The joy is in the journey, not just the destination.

  • Downtown Indy they have a really nice Canal and you can walk around it about 2 miles and they turn the water Irish Green, it is really pretty. They should have a Green Beer Fountain, that would so ROCK.

  • I always find it funny that everyone celebrates St. Paddy's day and St. Georges/Andrew/David goes fairly unnoticed even though chances are many people are a part of that heritage. , when I was London more people celebrated the Irish than they did when it came around to St George's Day (I might mention that when I was there my birthday fell on that day and I got carried home by the barmen apparently :lolSmile.

As for winter foods - I don't think you can go past a good casserole (I don't know what you yanks call it - crockpot?). Chuck some beef in a slow-cooker with a bit of stock, some spices and vegetables and you're all good.

Though it's heading towards summer here so I'm tending toward some ice cold beer and some 'shrimp on the barbie' Very Happy
