  • Love Ferris!
Also Blade Runner, Raging Bull, Das Boot, Ghostbusters.
And then the great cheesies: Teen Wolf, Bill & Ted, and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (If that title doesn't scream 80s awesome to you, I don't know what to say)

  • Those certainly are classics. I could just sit and watch 80s movies over and over, I think the 80s is kinda like the 50s. I mean the 60s were ok and 70 so so but the 80s were really special. The 90s not so much and from 2000 to 2010 for sure not that great.

  • Yeah it's kinda funny; you could walk into a room, look at the screen and instantly know it's an 80s movie that's playing. Fashion probably has it's part to play there but there's definitely a special vibe.
Great thing about 80s movies is that even the very worst are usually still entertaining enough to keep watching.

  • I liked almost all of the sc-fi movies of the 80's, especially the Back To The Future series. I also liked some of the horror/slasher films of the time (Friday The 13 series and Nightmare On Elmstreet series). But I'd have to say that my favorite movie from the 80's still has to be Batman. Because this is the movie that got me excited about comics!

I've seen all those and agree, all are good....well Stripes is kind of boring. The best part is the line "Have you been convicted of any felonies?" "Convicted? .... no."

I'm a big movie buff and grew up in the 80s so I won't list all of them, but my favs are probably John Hughes films, especially Breakfast Club and Great Outdoors, and almost any horror film but Fright Night and Lost Boys were two favorites.

and of course, the Phantasms. Gotta love a movie series that poses more questions than answers for each sequel and has sawed-off 4 barrel shotguns blowing away midget aliens with flying killer and a Tall Man who sucks embalming fluid. "Boooooy!!!!"
