- I was seeing that due to credit card transaction fees being capped that reward programs for card holders and in most cases banks will be enforcing a debit card fee simply just to have access to your money.
I think I will be cancelling the debit card and paying with cash. The banks are finding anyway and every way to stick it to people.
So far my bank does not charge yet. It is just like airlines I saw a report that airlines are making obscene amounts of money for things they once gave to people such as blankets and pillows.

- I don't have a debit card. I only use credit cards...just pay them off in full each month. If you are responsible that is the best option (30 days to pay, extra warranty on some, and rewards).

- I agree if you are disciplined enough to handle it. I find spending cash is best as then it is paid and done with. Credit cards will be the best option for people if all banks start to impose a fee for their debit cards.
I know the rewards can be very nice....
Did you hear about the card that gave rewards for every $1 you spend and what one guy was doing. He was buying from the US MINT $1.00 coins and getting the reward points and depositing them in the bank and then paying his bill off to get free rewards. I heard the guy racked up vacations to all over the world and got TONS of free things.

I agree. There's a HUGE reason I don't use debit cards. With a credit card if someone steals it or uses it, it's that companies money. Then at the end of the month you see the bill and can say "That's not me" and they'll usually remove it, but at least your actual money didn't move.
With a debit card if someone steals it or uses it, YOUR cash is gone. Sure the bank will usually refund it, although I don't know if it's as guaranteed as a credit card yet, but how long will that take? Meanwhile, you're sitting there with no money.
No thanks. I can't really see any advantage in a debit card. You still have to keep track of what you spend, so use a credit card and do the same.
Btw, credit card companies [and some are doing this already] talked about making a monthly fee even if you pay your balance. If that happens I'll cancel the card, and if they all do it I'll walk around with cash. Truthfully, I think a lot of people's problems would be solved if they destroyed their cards and used cash.

- I got away from credit cards for several years but recently last 6 months or so got some cards to rebuild my credit. I don't like paying an annual fee but they are not bad compared to some others out there.
I would walk around with cash if i had to as well. I have been using a debit card for some time though once you get used to it, it is difficult to break that habit.
