  • Is anyone else super excited about this despite all the major backlash it has gotten with some scene changes?

I would love to buy the blu ray but I do not even own a blu ray player yet. I am still waiting on the player that can connect to the Internet and allow me to watch whatever content I want for the most part. I think that will be a few years away yet so I am holding off on blue ray players but I would still love to have this DVD set.

I just bought my first standalone blu-ray player with 3d and WiFi built in. I can even get to CBR.com. No need to wait a few years.

By the way if you buy it through the link to the left CBR.com gets a commission. Twisted Evil

  • I would buy it but I don't have a player so no Star Wars for me though I am tempted. There just does not seem to be any real standard for the Blu Ray as all manufacturers it seems are kind of doing whatever they want with it and very inconsistent. Some people have reviewed a lot on Amazon and some have gotten great reviews but despite that even the great reviews still say the manufactures need to work out the bugs and all need to be more consistent.

  • i'm not to crazy about Star wars on Blu ray. Once again Lucas is changing things in the movies. It kills me to hear Darth Vader scream "No" in Revenge of the Sith. Sorry for a spoiler here, but I saw a special in which Vader at the end of Jedi when he tosses the emperor to his demise, they edited that scene and added the same "No" from R.O.T.S. Pretty silly IMO. I think you can find all the Blu Ray specials on yahoo movies under coming soon to dvd.

  • I think that they should never changed that either. I heard about it as well. Original is original for a reason and I could watch that scene over and over again. It's the conflict in Vader that shows that human element without the "no" it ads to the internal conflict that captures the audience. If he says no everyone knows what's coming if he does not say anything then it like what is he thinking does he love his son or not? It's good Lucas is a perfectionist but instead of with greatness he needs to make 7,8 and 9.

Vader is such an amazing character, I let my 2 year old watch all of them and 100 percent of the time it's parts 4,5 and 6 that he rather would watch. He don't watch the other parts.

It is my understanding that it is a total of 9 parts. Just so happens that he has not nor wanted to complete the story. I have heard there is 9 parts for many years even before the prequels came out.

  • Well...he will milk 1 - 6, then release 7 - 9, individually sell those discs, then a master collection.

He probably will assuming the other parts do exist. He will figure out something or someway to make 3 more parts and then when they come to DVD you are right. He might release them on Beta, VHS, DVD and then Blu Ray all a few years apart just so we will have to buy everything.

I thought a few years ago, Georgie admitted that he didn't ACTUALLY have a plot for parts 7-9 but just thought it sounded good to make it a 9 parter.............

Meh, I haven't even seen parts 2 and 3 yet, so I'm hardly going to go out of my way for parts 7 through 9 if they were made. I'm semi-keen on the original trilogy on blu-ray. If I have to buy it with the prequels then so be it.
