Comic book artist Francis McLaughlin has died at the age of 84 of undisclosed causes in his hometown of Stratford, Connecticut as reported by Legacy.com.
McLaughlin was best known for his work at Charlton Comics, where he broke into the industry and co-created the character Judomaster partially based on his own study of martial arts.
McLaughlin went on to work at DC, Marvel, Valiant, and Archie, where he worked on Adventure Comics, Justice League, Defenders, Captain America, and more.
McLaughlin also taught art at Hamden, CT's Paier College of Art, as well as Guy Gilchrist's Cartoonist's Academy.
McLaughlin is survived by children, Erin and Terry McLaughlin, and wife Yvonne Fabella.
