  • I have read, and seen many things on the early days of comics and I always get the impression that the guys working in the field at the time were just glad that they had a job doing something.

    I can easily see how Kirby's work at Marve would be "work for hire" but when he left the company and went to DC the work that he did there was creator owned. As there he came up with the ideas, wrote the stories and created the artwork for the issues.

  • Wow. What a blow to Marvel that would be - to lose copyright to most of their key characters.
