Hello, world (… theres a song that ........uh...sorry, got carried away)....

Anyway, I’m DUMPING all of my comics.....I can't afford to care for them anymore.

And now that DISNEY has bought MARVEL comics...well, lets just say, I took it as an omen to get this four-color monkey off my back. It HAD to END sometime, i guess.

Its my personal collection, acquired over 30+ years of comic hunting in quick marts, bus stations, newsstands, comic shops, conventions, and, of course, on e-bay (what a long, Strange Tales.......uh....TRIP its been).

First, the hook - ive got over 7,000 books (in 24 long-boxes) of various titles and companies (MAINLY from the 'big two' - DC & Marvel), with MOST (90%) graded at 9.4 (or higher), bagged (MYLYTES) and boarded, with (a few) signatures, from the most popular artists and writers in comics of yesterday and today ......

all for 2.75 a book

That's right .... for LESS than a comic cost TODAY (2.99, right?), you can give the holiday gift of vintage collectible comic magazines - no huss, no fuss, no long lines at conventions, no ebay haggling.

I'VE done all the legwork - so, you don't have to.

Now, of course, for every BATMAN #244 (signed N. ADAMS / ra's al ghul) or UNCANNY X-MEN #137 (signed BYRNE/CLARMOUNT / death of phoenix), you're also going to get an ANGEL LOVE Special #1 or HULK 2099 #1 (not a LOT of 'minor' titles, but a wide selection).

AND now ... the CATCH (yes...there's always a 'catch, folks) : I want to try and keep this offer in the form of an 'INSTANT' COLLECTION - I CANNOT sell a TITLE RUN or INDIVIDUAL ISSUES of the items in question and keep the PRICE at 2.75 a book. YET, I wouldnt be opposed to breaking up what I have to offer into TWO SEPARATE COLLECTIONS for sale - one, consisting of the DC TITLES and the other, the remaining MARVEL/INDEPENDENT TITLES.

(and, TRUST ME, I've already heard it all..."you're NUTS..." "..no FREAKIN' way..." "..i'll give you .25 on the DOLLAR..." - I figured - all the legwork, searching, preservation, and signatures i've gotten over the years 'adds up' to a 'measly' 3 bucks a comic, eh??).

So....if anyone is (still) interested, feel free to request an EXCEL LIST of the items in question...(scrodbundy@yahoo.com)

(NOTE: I've also recorded what I have on the compititions website COMICSPRICEGUIDE.COM (http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.aspx?m=SCRODBUNDY) - took some time to input over 7,000 items....but hey, it's X-mas)

  • I hate to say it, but it's really unlikely you're going to get the deal you're looking for. You're asking about $20,000 dollars for your collection. I'm sure you put more money than that into getting all of your books together and bagged and boarded, but to find someone will to lay down that kind of money for a collection someone else put together is going to be very difficult. You've got enough books you may want to look at setting up a vendor table at a local convention. You're still probably not going to get what you're asking, but if you sell the valuable stuff a little higher and the rest a little lower, you should make something back.
Just my $0.02. I wish you luck!

  • Yeah, unfortunately Nicolas Cage went bankrupt, so there's one less avenue to try. I tried selling 2000 comics for a coworker and we were both disappointed by that effort. I ended up buying them for about a buck a book, which seemed fair for both of us. And that's what got me hooked here.
