Tired , tired, tired.

This is an open letter to the big two. marvel and dc

Stop relaunching your titles. I am tired of every year we get a new issue #1 for the characters I like to read about. I understand that you want to grab those dollar sales for #1's. But what about the years of continuity and legacy with numbers like 600 or 500. If you want to launch a title with a new creative team look at the model of Spawn over at Image.  When Paul Jenkins took over as writer they did a one shot to grab those #1 dollars and then rolled the story into the next issue of the regular series. It was a smooth transition and it keep the large numbering that feels like I am reading something in a larger picture.

So please enough with the all new all different, new 52 titles stick with a numbering and move your stories forward. please stop hitting the reset button.

  • You are not alone. Ever since Disney bought Marvel its been a mess $$. Property to be exploited is all. There are still gems to be found but all the history is considered dead weight at this point. DC is just a lost cause imo.

    • Thanks for the comment, glad to see I am not the only one out there thinking . WTF. Why can't we keep the 75 plus years of rich history.

  • All that rich history still exists though. Even though things are a bit screwed up right now, there remains a massive amount of great comics that are nearly forgotten and worth rediscovering today. Pull that long-box back out and share what made these characters so awesome to begin with. Blog on the longbox.
