All comics and characters have their own copyright through their "maker". ComicBookRealm.com is just an avenue for collector's to come together to share in the joy of comic collecting.
All ComicBookRealm.com claims to own is this website, the look and feel, and the individual functions that make your comic collecting and tracking experience a more enjoyable one (well, we also own a whole lot of comic books ourselves). You agree that you will not borrow, steal, scrape, ore reverse engineer any of the data or functions on ComicBookRealm.com. Doing so will allow us to remedies under the full extent of the law.
What is the value of a comic book?
That is the age old question when collecting. There are a lot of factors that go into determining the value. Since there are so many factors, it is virtually impossible to give a 100% accurate value for any given book. Comic tracking services like ours do our best to provide as accurate of a value as possible. However, mistakes are made (probably because we are human), so you must keep in mind that:
A comic is only worth what someone else is willing to pay you for it
If someone is only willing to offer you $100 for your original mint copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1, then at that time that is the current value. (We ask that if this were a real situation and you were contemplating selling this "worthless" original mint copy for $100, we would offer you $200)
We will try our best to accomodate everyone's thoughts, wishes, and requests. That being said, right now all values are currently listed in US dollars. As demand grows we will look into showing prices in your requested format.
Please keep in mind that only "major" currencies would be supported (and would probably only be updated once a week in relation to the dollar).
UPDATE - Foreign Currancies are now supported. Read about it here
In addition, we will evaluate the need for adding other countries comics to the system. Since we are not in Germany, it is very hard for us to give an accurate value to what a German version of Ultimate Spider-Man #5 would be worth.
What you need
ComicBookRealm.com is optimized for Chrome (our browser of choice) and Firefox; however, because of Mr. Gates strangle hold on the world, it will also work in Internet Explorer 11+. If you are having problems getting something to work, you are welcome to contact us and we can see if it would be possible to accomodate your browser preference, but since this is a universal site, please understand that we need to support the masses.
Even though ComicBookRealm.com collects certain information from members (i.e. name, state, e-mail, etc.) we will not rent, sell, or distribute your information without your consent unless all of the following demands are met:
ComicBookRealm.com is not responsible for anything unless we have expressly claimed to be. That means that if you get upset because we dropped the value of your favorite comic by 50% and you threw your drink at your computer in frustration breaking it, we are not responsible for that.
Collecting comics is all about having fun. If you collect comics and are not having fun, then you are probably doing it for the wrong reason.
