Okay here goes.... Quite a few years ago I saw a ad on Craiglist for 6000 to 8000 comic books. I email the person and ask him what kind of comics they were, he told me there was a number of different brands.. Marvel, DC, Image, Dark horse and others. I asked him why he was selling them and if they were in good condition. He goes on to tell me they are all in NM to Mint condition and that was all he knew. He then tells me they were his uncles that had own a comic store in Minnesota and that he had passed away and he was they one the uncle left them too. He sent me some pics of the comics and they looked great. He even offered to delivar them to me which was a 3 hour one way trip. Now... here it comes.... when he arrivied, he had told me that this is a sight unseen sale, but he would let me look in a couple of boxes. So I looked at the two boxes I could get to and they looked great.. So after unloading them and paying the guy $1000.00.... he leave and I start going through the boxes...........Well out of that many comics I ended up with 3000 to 4000 of comics I kepted for myself... all the rest are double, tripes, quadruplts, and a lot have 10 to 20 of the same issue number....and they are Valiant, Image, Dark Horse and other brands.. Now I have sold a lot on Ebay and at garage sale that I have had but still have a large amount.....

Now here is the help I need...... Should I keep these and add them to my piles here on CBR or not even bother... I now some are going up in a little value...Like some of the Valiants.... Here is an example of what I'm dealing with..

Image Comics

Stormwatch (1993-1997)

Issue #0 - 8x

Issue #1 - 6x

Issue #2 - 5x

Issue #3 - 20x

Issue #4 - 10x

Issue #5 - 5x

Issue #6 - 14x

Archer and Armstrong (1992-1994)

Issue #2 - 11x

Issue #5 - 10x

Issue #13 - 20x

Issue #14 - 27x

And so on and so on.... Bloodshot, X-O manowar, Timewalker, Turok, Wildcats, Brigade, and many many others....

  • Talk about Longbox Junk! I say keep the ones worth anything, 1 each of the junk, and sell the rest at the flea market. Lots more walk by business there than a yard sale. Sell the junk for 2 for a dollar. If there's any 90's-tastic gimmick covers, sell those for a buck or two. Even better, bundle up a grab bag 3 comics for 2 bucks with a pretty cover on the top. Just my humble opinion.

  • Yeah...I would only add one (the best one) and keep it. The rest sell, or it sounds like you might have sold some to where you could have broken even. If so maybe consider handing them out to trick or treaters or something like that (if they are good for kids, etc).

Looks like Stormwatch you could make 4 complete runs which might help sell them.
