I took some time to read "The Infinite" and wanted to share my thoughts.

There is some stuff floating around about how Rob Liefeld draws and for better or worse he has been tasked with this series.  I must tell you that reading this comic was like a flashback to the 90's (when I first got into comics) with one exception...Robert Kirkman.

The Infinite brings us Bowen and Case trying to undo the evils of the world only to resort to time travel to "cure all ails".  We all know how well that will likely go over, but after the first issue finishes setting up the series it is wide open as to where we go from here.

I thought it was an enjoyable read and it is a lot like "Terminator a la Kirkman/Liefeld".  Can Bowen avenge his friend/family's death?  Will the world come crumbling down due to a time paradox?

More importantly will this issue sell out?  The answer is yes to all of the above.  Get it while it is hot (ok before it is hot as it goes on sale tomorrow)!

  • I'm torn because I'm a huge Kirkman fan, but not so much on the Liefeld. I didn't pick it up, because it didn't seem fresh enough to me to be added to my list. But I'll see how it's doing down the line and maybe catch up if it's worth it.

    • Yeah...that is the tough part. Except for Kirkman's writing this literally could be from the 90's. I think Liefeld has improved somewhat, but that might not get people past their feelings for him and could hurt the book overall.

  • Maybe work for Image as some sort of marketing seer - 'the man who knows what sells before it's sold'?
Sound advice though. I read a preview and then saw this just recently and decided if my local still had a copy I'd get it. Score!

    • Will work for comics. Smile

Of course I didn't predict that ASM #666 would have a second printing with over 70,000 extra copies printed.
