It is worth it!
Ok...so I saw this one last night.
I have never read the series but the previews looked decent to me, it stars Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman (2 of my favorites), and it is a comic book movie. So this meant that it is a must see. Plus it doesn't hurt that I worked it handing out free passes so I got to get there later and save a prime seat.
After watching this movie I would have to compare it to 300 meets NY and the millenium. It was a very graphic and VERY violent movie.
But don't get me wrong...it was EXCELLENT. I went into it with an open mind (because I hadn't read the series I didn't know what to expect or to compare it to). Parts of it were kind of slow but that mainly is for character development.
The movie is full of twists and surprises, and if you can get past some of the "not possible" or "unreal" scenes, the train, and the "end" scene in the library, then it is fully entertaining.
There were people of all ages in the theater and they all enjoyed it. There were a lot of funny scenes (especially in the beginning) and probably my favorite had to be when he "tells" his boss off.
Anyways I have to admit that this is for me is right up there with Iron Man. It won't make the same amount of money, but it will be a money generator. I am going to give it 4 stars out of 5. Honestly I could even give it 4.25.
I would recommend that you see the movie on the big screen if you can...I don't think you will be disappointed! I have a feeling that this could be the sleeper movie of the year
