Kree_Boy alerted me that there was a convention today...and ironically I received my reminder postcard yesterday.
I was worried the Mrs. would say I couldn't go but since I let her go out on a "Mother's Night Out" thing last night I think I was safe. So after I got Lexi to bed I headed up to the hotel.
I have been to one of these before (same hotel) and I wasn't expecting much. Really I just wanted to go through some quarter/dollar bins to pick up some missing books to fill in some runs.
I haven't gone through what I found but I did find about 8 Ultimate Spider-man's that I need to get me a complete run from 1-110 for $1 each. Now I don't think they are necessarily worth the $1 each (that is less than a store would have to purchase them for), but I want to get my complete run in order so that I can sell it on feeBay (or here if there are takers).
Once of my biggest pet peeves with feeBay are "complete/full run" listings that say like, Ultimate Spider-man 1-100 complete! only for you to get into the listing to see that they say...well, it is missing #58, and #72. Well does that make it complete? Nope...wasting peoples time, etc.
I took some pictures. Were any of you there? Did I get any of you in the picture? I need to get some ComicBookRealm.com careerwear so that we can see each other.
On the way out I noticed a sign for the "Kansas City Comic Book Club". I asked the lady at the front table about it and she said it meets about 3 miles from my house on the 1st Sunday of the month. I think that I will try to attend the next one...althougth I am sure that this would cement how much of a "tool" I am in my wife's mind.
The lady told me it is a bunch of old guys that talk about comics so it should be neat to hear what they have to say and what they have been through. She said they even sometimes bring some old comics with them so that would be a treat too.
All in all I think it was a successful convention. It was packed when I was there. I met one vendor that was from Omaha (which is quite a drive). I am not sure how much they need to sell to make it worth their while, but the booth, and the gas would seem like they would need to sell a lot.

I would like to know about the KC comic book club...that would be kinda cool....and yes...it would also cement how much of a nerd i am in my wifes eyes...ill google it...but if you have any info....share share share!
wish there was 1 close enough to me to get to.
actually, technically there are some that are in driving distance.
it's just a matter of haveing the tome to make the drive.
now, 1 with in walking distance would be awesome.
