Let's start off my comic reviewing experience with one of my all-time favorite movie franchises - Die Hard.
This is one of the franchises that seems to get better and better as it goes along (unlike most others that should have stopped after the first one) - and now it is in Comic Book form!
This one starts out a little slow, but you know - it has to. They have to setup the story and probably the first 80% of this issue does just that...laying out all of the players.
Boom's franchise starts us off on July 4th in 1976 in New York City with the celebration of the bicentennial. New York is getting ready to celebrate, and McClane is getting ready for some action as a rookie cop.
The first time you read "McClane" you can just feel it in your bones and while the art by Stephen Thompson is pretty good, and how can you ever go wrong with Howard Chaykin in control?
I am looking forward to this roller coaster adventure with John McClane!
