Tim Russert died

I am not saying that I am a huge fan of his...but you know what I am human and it is sad when people of his "stature" die unexpectedly (especially if you start thinking it was a conspiracy theory).

One of the wonders (I guess you can call it that) of today's modern age is Wikipedia. It is almost comical how quickly it is updated when something occurs.

Heck I work in a newsroom and heard about it the minute it happened. I decided to see if someone updated Wikipedia and they had.

But I was severly disappointed in what I saw. Someone posted on his page "Liberal piece of finally died".

What is wrong with people? Did he screw up this economy? Did he ruin the country? Did he do anything to ever mess up peoples lives? It would be nice if someone found out who added this sidebar and they were thrown into a vat of !

For those that would like proof...I add it to flickr.

  • My wife just told me about this a minute ago. Sad.

I play on Wikipedia a lot. Despite it's noble mission, it attracts people with the worst agendas on both ends of the political spectrum. Its saving grace is the number of dedicated regular editors and the irregulars who show up to nudge it along towards something better. I'm sure the article will be locked down soon if it isn't already.

  • First - RIP, Mr. Russert.

Next - the sad thing, Dough Boy, is that I would have believed you without the proof. It's sad, really. In theory - Wikipedia is a great tool. Until the tools start playing with Wikipedia. The cool thing is, I'm someone who likes to be a Wikipedia graffiti cleaner, and the serious people there do jump on stuff like that pretty quickly.
