TV has got to change!

Ok...so this will be a rant.

The family and I are watching our Thursday night shows.  One of them is Survivor.  Probst goes and gets the votes and then what happeens?

The FREAKING weather people come on to talk about weather (tornado) that is literally on the opposite side of the viewing area from us...probably a good 1 hour+ drive.

Why can they not have 2 versions of the channel.  One for the people that can choose whether they are interested in the weather, and the other for those that the weather doesn't matter to so we can WATCH our freaking shows.

So not only do I not know who got voted off of Survivor, but every other show that started at 8 has now had almost 30 minutes interupted by the stupid weather people.

In this day and age it should not happen.  The weather guy on another channel just said and since we cover 44 FREAKING counties we will zoom out and show everyone that it is only 1 county out in BFE that is having problems.  So the whole viewing area is probable 2m+ but yet only maybe 1,000 people are affected.

I know let's stop all TV for the whole FREAKING United States to let them know thet there might be a Tornado in this one county in Missouri!

  • That sucks. I understand that warning people is important, but it's not like the weather people are liable if the right people aren't warned, and it's not like weather changes so quickly that they couldn't broadcast the warning before or after the show. I guess they might lose advertisers that way, but isn't it at least as bad to lose viewers?

I have a completely different rant about tv, but it has more to do with the crap they air at 7. I finally got over not being able to watch family guy reruns, but now I can't even watch My Name is Earl, American Dad or a lot of other entertaining stuff because they show it before the kids go to bed. But I digress...

  • i dont see why they have to TELL people about that kind of stuff anyway why not just put that stupid little banner on the bottom and let people read there is a problem

  • I barely even know how to watch tv anymore....fox.com, abc.com, cbs.com, nbc.com and hulu.com have pretty much every show that I care about, and I only have to wait til one day later to view it (of course this method does not give the shows official ratings, and the BEST show on, may have been conceled [terminator:sarah conner chronicles] because 2/3 of its viewers watched it on the internet and only the original network air is counted)......BUT, having my computer plugged into my tv is the best thing ever
