Ok so the Mrs. and I were able to check out a sneak preview of the Hulk which comes out this friday.
One thing I have learned about these sneak previews is that my time should be worth more than $4 an hour - the price of a movie ticket ($8) divided by the number of hours spent waiting for the movie to start (2).
This screening was packed...probably 550 with them having to turn others away. There were also a lot of kids. I think most kids have heard of The Hulk before unlike Iron Man. One nice thing about this theater is that you can bring your own food and drink in...they don't care. So we were able to get a reasonably priced meal before hand. But anyways...I digress.
I had reservations about this movie when I first heard about it. I thought great another remake...but they did a little rehashing of how the Hulk came to be - and for the most part it was an action packed movie.
I will do my best to not spoil anything.
Honestly, after watching the movie I felt like I had just seen the movie for a second time. It seems like all of the previews I have seen of the movie pretty much sum it up and all of the rest was just filler and fluff.
As with all of the Marvel movies you have Stan "The Man" Lee making his cameo...but also look for the "Pizza Guard" for another fun casting.
One of my major pet peeves for "battle scenes" that take in populated areas is why in the world would you have spectators "watching" the battle? I can understand from several hundred yards away or something...but why would I get right into it with armed police and military personnel just to see what is going on.
I didn't stick around for the credits to end to see if there was another hidden "gem" like at the end of Iron Man. I think there was going to be but after the flack about making people wait that long I think they moved it up to just before the credits.
Overall I would give it 3½ stars out of 5 
. While it likely will be a must see movie for comic "aficionados" everywhere, I personally do not think that it is one that has to be seen in the theater. It is just not a "wow" movie like Iron Man was that generated repeat viewings by fans (I saw it twice in the theaters).
