Going to check this movie out today. I hope that they did not ruin the story like hollywood likes to do to movies. I'm sure everyone as a kid has a fondness for this story. The previews looked good, and Maurice Sendack himself enjoyed it, so it must be good, but the way hollywood works i'm sure they'll throw something in their to tweak it a bit.

    • I don't know why they needed to mention global warming in the movie. The monsters were angry a lot, and I thought that this was somewhere that Max could go and be happy. It sure did'nt seem like the book I read when I was a kid. He runs away because he was mad at his sister's boyfriend, then runs away, makes friends with bickering monsters, then leaves the island with unresolved problems with the Carol character. This movie was a waste of time. Decent visuals, but the story was horrible!!
