Lots of Daredevil, Walking Dead back issues, and a few minor keys!

I dropped a bit more than usual on comics this week.

As I do every other week, I went to the local flea market again.  Much like every other week, same guys selling the same comics.  However, I noticed a guy had a new stack on his table- with some comics in mylars.  I was excited to find something new, so I headed over and started searching!

The vast majority of his new stock was low to mid grade early Daredevil issues.  Prior to this, I had a couple of keys in the vol 1 run, but no issues under number 102.  In all, the pile had 40 Daredevil issues, with lower grade copies of 11,12, and 13, plus a smattering of decent mid to higher grade issues up through 138.  Someone had clearly gone through the stack and pulled all the good keys, but I figured it might be a chance to get a deal on a bundle of older books- Daredevil doesn't usually fetch the highest prices, so I decided to take a chance.

After some negotiating, I was able to come away with the collection at $3 per book, and I got him to include Giant-Sized Daredevil #1 and ASM annual #6.  To me, $120 on comics in one week is a lot, but the deal felt right, so I walked away happy!

I did also manage to find some dollar bin keys from another vendor- X-Force 11 (1st actual app. of Domino), Danger Girl 1, X-Men 4 (first Omega Red), Captain America vol 5 #25 (death of StevenRodgers), and Incredible Hulk 234 (Marvel Man becomes Quasar).

After picking up so many books this week, I decided it was time to hit the comic shop and get some more bags and boards- the stuff at the flea market has clearly been sitting in old bags and boards that were due for changing about 10 years ago....  While in the shop, I noticed the store was having a back issue sale- any back issues in stock that are priced under $5 were on sale for 99 cents.  I was already blowing out my budget for the week, but whats 10 more dollars or so?  I ended up grabbing a pile of Walking Dead back issues that I needed to start filling in the gaps in my collection.

Overall, I spent over $150 on comics this weekend.  Part of me says maybe I should have just ordered a nice key off of eBay, but the other part of me is very happy to have all the comics I just accrued!

Maybe next week I will focus on getting a nice key!
