me admiring my collection

i was getting really bored and unentertained with my collection over the past few months because i would see these great collections other people had and all the possibillities for my collection. well so then i decided to go through my whole collection just to check it out.

i realized my collection is not what i thought it was. it was like 90% golden and silver age stuff. i realized i had more quality comics than i first thought. the rest of the day i just went through all my comics reading and admiring them

my favorite comics include:

amazing spidey #1

x-men #1

startling comics#49 (classic schomburg cover)

western picture stories #1 (1st western comic ever)

adventure #43

detective #33 (oriin of batman)

more fun #50

  • Yeah I would likely get rid of my whole collection to have quality books like that!

  • yeah, i'd trade my whole collection....keep and for sale books...just for the amazing spidey, x-men, and detective books....of course, i would have to turn around and sell them to pay rent...oh well

  • thanks. i decided quite awhile ago to sell all my filler comics to buy only quality. so now i am down to about 300-400 comics.

  • I don't have any great stuff like that. I guess what I'm most proud of are my (mostly) complete collections of Gen X and Y: The Last Man. I'm missing some ashcans and stuff. I thought I had a complete Excalibur run, but I'm nowhere near there.

  • that's my problem. I have a lot of "meh" books that I've picked up over the years. That's not to say I am not proud of my collection or my long runs of modern books; but I have a problem letting go of things.
