I've gotten some messages asking me why the entries in this blog are becoming more infrequent.
My apologies, and a bit of explanation. . .
I'm a night manager at a hotel and I do these during my down time at work. As the summer season goes into full swing, I have less of that down time. When school gets back in, you'll see them going back up in frequency again.
If you've never done the hotel Graveyard Shift, you would be surprised at the amount of activity at a hotel in the -Awful hours of the morning during tourist travel season. It is 20 minutes to 2 a.m. as I write this and I have actually had to stop 3 times to talk to people about this and that. I started writing it about 30 minutes ago.
In the winter, I can go 3-4 hours at a time without seeing a soul. In the summer, I can barely go 10 minutes at a stretch. People who aren't used to staying in hotels can't sleep right in hotels, so they wander to and fro all night long. . .and when they wander, for some reason they feel the urge to converse with a complete stranger in the middle of the night just because one happens to be sitting there. Sometimes they are so tired, I can barely understand them. . .but they still have to talk if they see me sitting there. It's a pretty odd piece of human nature, if you think about it.
So there it is. Not giving up on Longbox Junk by any means. Just getting busy at work.
