Same. Looks like it'll be hosted in the west hall from the first year. Good because it's way more spacious. It was way too crowded last year.
Hopefully we get some of the guests from FanExpo Canada. Would love to get some sigs from Todd McFarlane, Garth Ennis, Walt Simonson, and more.

- Who's gonna go on the Friday this year? I think Im skipping on the 3 day pass.... Id rather save the money and spend it on comics. I'm thinking I'm gonna try going Friday only and if there's not enough then return Saturday. I typically go only to buy comics so I'm not overly worried if there's not a lot guests on the Friday. Who out there bought the premium pass so far? Anyone just gonna try to go one of the days?

I've already got the 3 day pass. Hopefully the comic guests are there on Friday cause I've got a bunch of stuff to get signed. Last two years was a struggle. Had one bag full of comics for signatures and another bag full of comics I bought at the convention. Very heavy lifting. I'm so full of energy when I'm there though that it doesn't bother me. It's the next day that's worse lol.
Hopefully more comic guests are announced soon.

Comic collectors dream IMO.
This will be my 3rd year going. The past 2 have been great. There are tons of comic dealers that come from different areas in the province and from other provinces or states to sell there stuff. You can find rare and key issue comics ranging from gold, silver, and bronze ages.
Some people even sell you their own comics from their own personal collection. Some won't even charge tax
Comic artists and writers sign your stuff for free but they will charge if you want a original sketch. Every fee is different though.
Artists also have sketch duels that are also a Q & A session. Once the sketches are done they'll do a raffle and you can possibly win one of the sketches.
If you're also into meeting celebrities just be ready to shell out cash for autographs and if you want a photo-op.
Anyway, I have a blast when I go.

- In case some of you didn't know. I just found out that Mark Bagley also does the interior artwork for the Hulk #1 exclusive comic that Fan Expo Vancouver is selling. So make sure to pick it up so you can get both Mike Del Mundo and Mark Bagley's sigs on it.

They didn't announce it last year as far as I can remember. All I remember was getting Stan Lee's sig and the CGC table was right next to him.
Hopefully they'll come back next year.

If you bought a Premium or Deluxe Pass in advance you will be let into the Expo at 2PM instead of 4PM.
If you also want to get in at 2PM make sure to buy your tickets online.

- That's too bad. Really sucks hard that they don't take refunds. Well there's always next year.
Just got back from the first day and was it packed.
2 artists were charging for sigs though which was unexpected. Tony Moore was charging $5 per sig right off the bat and Bill Sienkiewicz would only sign 2 comics for free and then charge $5 per any other comic you wanted signed. Wish they would've mentioned that on the Fan Expo guest list.

- A little underwhelming when it came to non local vendors. Mostly the same guys we see at the smaller bimonthly shows but I did get a few good deals. Not a lot of guests today but that didn't keep people away. I think it's still going to be crazy busy on Saturday and Sunday. Overall though, I had a good time and had a positive experience...I indulged in the mini donut stand too.

Yeah Saturday and Sunday are when the bigger celebs show up, not that I'm interested. Can't wait to meet Mark Bagley though. Wonder if he'll be charging for sigs...
Managed to pick up a copy of Marvel Preview #7 for a $200. Just had to add the 1st appearance of Rocket Raccoon to my collection.
Also picked up Marvel Super-Heroes #18 (First Appearance of the Original Guardians of The Galaxy team) for around $90. The guy wanted to sell it to me for $135 but I managed to get him to bring the price down.

- Was happy to see that Mark Bagley didn't charge for sigs. He was a really cool guy too. 3 kids, probably around 6 or 7 yrs. old were looking at his art. Bagley asked them "You kids like Spider-Man?" The kids said yes. So Mark pulled out a print and signed it for the kids at no cost.
I was going to bring a whole stack of Amazing Spider-Man but I didn't know if he would be charging for sigs. However I got his sigs on Amazing Spider-Man #361-363 (1st Full appearance of Carnage and Amazing spidey #374-375. As well as Thunderbolts #1-2.

My big Buys were Marvel Preview #7 (1st app of Rocket Raccoon) 7.5 or 8.0 and Marvel Super-Heroes Presents... #18 (1st app. and origin of the original Guardians of The Galaxy) 8.0 or 8.5

- I picked up a Silver Surfer vol 1 #3 (1st Mepisto) in about a F/FV, a Thor 150 in a VF, and Avengers 112 (1st Mantis) in a VF/NM. I filled in a few more Avengers in the late 100's, some Nova appearances, and a couple Bronze Age Shazam.
